Introduction
Who is doing the survey?
The Officers’ Unions of International Seamen (OUIS) have commissioned the World Maritime University (WMU) to conduct the survey. The research team comprises academics and researchers with a seafaring background. 
 
Why is this survey being done?
The survey aims to capture seafarers’ experiences on work-related aspects, psychological well-being, and career intentions. The insights gathered will help the shipping industry consider potential improvements.
 
Who can participate?
Seafarers currently working or have worked on any commercial ship during or after 2013. 
 
How long will this survey take?
The survey will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
 
Will I be identified for taking part in the survey?
No. The survey does not collect any personally identifiable information. Only general socio-demographic information is collected and your responses will remain completely anonymous. 

The survey follows the WMU Research Ethics Committee procedures.
 
Can I stop responding to the survey after having started?
Your participation is voluntary and can be withdrawn at any stage of the survey.
