Thank you for taking the time to respond to this survey. Your work in the maritime industry and your contribution to this research are deeply appreciated.
MarTID is an initiative of The World Maritime University, Marine Learning Systems and New Wave Media aimed at collecting data, through a survey, on the dominant training practices being undertaken in the global maritime industry.
The survey is focused on issues regarding training in the maritime industry and in this particular survey we are seeking the views of ship operating companies. The results collected will be used to provide objective and comprehensive data on how the industry manages and conducts training for shipboard competencies.
It is our hope that you will participate in this work with a view to adding your voice to the enhancement of the training practices of the maritime industry. Our aim for this initiative is to provide insights that will aid in policy-setting, decision-making, benchmarking and optimization of training practices by industry and regulatory authorities at all levels, leading to the sustainable development of productivity and safety of vessel operations.
Responding to the questionnaire should take approximately 30 minutes. You can return to the survey and edit your responses anytime before submission (provided you use the same device and web browser at the start of the survey). The survey will be closed on September 30th 2023.
Every question in the survey is optional. Should you encounter a question you are unable to answer, we encourage you to leave the question blank and continue on with the remainder of the survey.
While the data collected will be stored in a secure database for ongoing trend analysis, it will be used only and strictly for the reports associated with the survey. The reports, shared with the global maritime community, will only show aggregated data from the survey. No individual elements will be isolated without your direct permission. Any personal and private information about participants and organizations will be treated with utmost confidentiality. You are free to pull out of the survey at any time.
